Prayer Wheel Pendant, Brass
The prayer wheel is a Tibetan Buddhist instrument to increase the productivity of prayer. This turning pendant is inscribed with the prayer, "om mani padme hum," which means "a jewel in a lotus." It is the prayer for the enlightenment of all sentient beings. Inside the pendant is a paper scroll with the same prayer written over and over. The pendant can be opened, but we usually leave it undisturbed.

Script Om Pendant
"Om," is the imperishable sound of the universe at creation. If you look below you will see that the different Om pendants all look slightly different. The letter does look slightly different from Hindi to Nepali to Tibetan script. Also, the letter is often stylized to make it even more attractive as in the piece above.

Mantra Prayer Beads, $108
Each of these prayer malas is inscribed with the prayer, "om me ni pad me hum," on every bead. They come in brass nickle or copper.
Aum= a sound, it is the imperishable sound of the universe at creation. (People chant Om or Aum to resonate with the universe.)
Mani= jewel
Padme = lotus
Hum=a sound, it is the sound of triumph when all beings become enlightened.
The jewel within the lotus represents the mystery of life. It is the budding complexity within which dwells the jewel of truth.
